Our speaker for February is well known local author Dane Love who will be speaking about his latest book on Ayrshire's lost villages. A selection of Dane's books will be available for sale during the evening. Refreshments included. Our 14th AGM will be held on Wednesday 20th June 2018 at 7.30 p.m. in Beith Townhouse. The evening will start with a short talk by Andy Simpson on 'William Wilson' of Crummock, the man who was behind the building of the Townhouse 200 years ago. We are actively seeking more volunteers so please consider getting involved in helping in our work recording and preserving the rich heritage of the area.

QUILT EXHIBITION
Our new exhibition is now open. We are thrilled to be hosting a display of over 20 quilts made by 'Kilbirnie Sew & sews'. The variety on show is fantastic and includes the quilt made to celebrate the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The quilts will be in the Townhouse until the 26th October and are well worth a visit.

TALK – GLASGOW NECROPOLIS
Our October speaker, Nigel Willis, will be talking about Glasgow Necropolis. Located next to the Cathedral this impressive Victorian cemetery has about 50,000 burials and has some distinctive monuments and memorials. Admission is free to members of Beith Cultural & Heritage society, otherwise £2.
